The movie “Laughing Buddha” is produced by Rishab Shetty, directed by Bharath Raj, and stars Pramod Shetty in his first lead role. Recently, the song “Entha Chendane” from the movie was released, written by K. Kalyan, with music composed by Vishnu Vijay. After the song’s release, the film’s team shared some insights.
Rishab Shetty mentioned that when Bharat Raj, who had directed his movie Hero,told him the story of Laughing Buddha, he instantly connected with it. Both he and the director agreed that Pramod Shetty was the right choice for the lead role. He also shared that the movie’s trailer would be released on August 15, and the movie itself will be in theaters on August 30.
The story focuses on a police officer’s family and their emotions. Pramod Shetty plays a constable named Govardhan, while Teju Belawadi plays the role of Satyavati. The details about Diganth Manchale’s role are being kept secret until the movie’s release. Most of the filming took place in Bhadravati and nearby areas. Chandrashekar handled the cinematography, and Prakash did the editing. Director Bharat Raj explained that the title Laughing Buddha was inspired by a Chinese figure named Budai, who carries a bag of sweets for children and spreads happiness. The character Govardhan in the movie is similar in spreading joy.
Pramod Shetty shared that he was surprised when he was chosen for the lead role. After hearing the story, he liked it and agreed to the role, even gaining weight for it. After the film was completed, he lost about twenty kilograms.
Diganth mentioned that he played a role originally meant for Rishabh Shetty but couldn’t reveal much about it. Teju Belawadi confirmed her role as Satyavati, and retired police officer Umesh said he also acted in the movie. Lyricist K. Kalyan spoke about the song, and Karthik Gowda from K.R.G Studios, who is distributing the film, was present at the press event.
